October 19, 2021 - Bayhealth Transforms Treatment for Delawareans with Breast Cancer

Dr. M. Lisa Attebery, FACOS, a fellowship-trained, board-certified breast surgical oncologist at Bayhealth Hospital’s Sussex Campus in Milford, says Bayhealth now offers technology designed to locate and remove cancerous tissue using a less invasive, more patient-friendly treatment method that also reduces the need for repeat surgeries.
Attebery and Bayhealth have partnered with a company called Endomag to introduce the Sentimag system, which enables doctors to identify cancerous tissue without using an invasive guidewire placed into the patient’s breast during surgery—the standard of care for more than 30 years. Read more....

“A patient comes into my office with a biopsy, and I can drop a Magseed, which is magnetic and emits a signal” said Dr Attebery. “Then, the morning of surgery or in my office, I inject the Magtrace. The Comprehensive Breast Center recently announced the opening of its new office.
M. Lisa Attebery, DO, FACOS is the only fellowship-trained breast surgeon in the state and is the first on the East Coast to use the Sentimag, Magseed and Magtracer.
The center will see female and male patients for all breast concerns, including abnormal mammograms, breast lumps and previous breast cancers. Dr. Attebery is experienced in breast reductions, breast enhancements and breast reconstruction.
